Substances that have medicinal properties are called pharmaceuticals.

Pharmacology comprises of :-

  • Drug composition and properties
  • Drug design and synthesis
  • Cellular & Molecular mechanisms
  • Organ/system mechanisms
  • Signal transduction/Cellular Communication
  • Molecular diagnostics
  • Drug Interactions
  • Chemical Biology
  • Drug therapy
  • Medicinal Application
  • Anti-pathogenic Capability

Pharmacology is further divided :-

  • Pharmacodynamics
  • Pharmacokinetics

Pharmacodynamics :- It is the study of the effects that the drugs have on the body.
